Our Journey

Vector

2015

Driven by a passion to empower our community after graduating, we founded Sankofatech. Our initial focus tackled technical gaps by building impactful apps and websites.

2016

Addressing a vital need in our community, we developed the Twi Bible and Hymnal App, making it easier than ever for people to access and engage with their faith on their phones. This first-of-its-kind app resonated deeply, reaching over 50K+ users in its initial months.

2017

Due to expanded responsibilities at work, we decided to pause on work on Sankofatech

2019

Driven by a commitment to community empowerment, Sankofatech underwent a strategic pivot. Instead of building software ourselves, we decided to focus on developing the next generation of Black technologists and equipping them with the necessary skills to create solutions for their own communities. This impactful shift resulted in the launch of the Achievers in Technology (AIT) program.
